Funding Your Education
Adult students are encouraged to explore and apply for funding support for their education. As funding opportunities have been increasing, the Mid-East Adult Education staff will work to keep this list current so that students can have a convenient place to find available funding to offset program tuition and fees.
Recent High School Graduate Tuition Reduction: Recent high school graduates may qualify for up to $1000 in tuition reductions to attend programs that are 600 hours or more in length at Mid-East CTC Adult Education.
Commercial Truck Driver Student Aid Program: Truck Driver Training students are invited to apply for funding through the Commercial Truck Driver Student Aid Program offered at Mid-East CTC. This program covers the cost of tuition and fees for students seeking a Class A or Class B CDL. Half of the program costs will be covered by a grant and the other half, a loan. Grant funds do not need to be repaid. Loan amounts can be forgiven after one-year of employment as described in the program agreement. ALL FUNDS HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED AS OF 6/10/2024
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) – OOD operates Ohio’s Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program. Through the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation and Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired, the VR program provides services to eligible individuals with disabilities to assist them in getting and keeping a job. Disabilities may include physical, intellectual, mental health, or sensory disabilities. OOD works with adults seeking to enter the workforce or retain a job. Financial assistance may be available.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) – Financial assistance may be available for students who are economically disadvantaged or dislocated workers. Contact your county Ohio Means Jobs office for eligibility and availability.

Talent Ready Grant - Offered in partnership with the Ohio Department of High Education (ODHE) to support students who exhibit financial need and are enrolled in programs that may be completed in less than one year that can lead to a certification or workforce credential in an in-demand job or career.
To be considered, students must submit and satisfy the following requirements:
- You must be a resident of Ohio to receive this grant. Photo ID will be required during registration.
- This grant only pays for courses that are included in the program list (see below).
- This grant will cover up to a maximum of $2,000 of tuition per program; however, if you withdraw (or are dismissed) prior to completing the program, you forfeit the grant, and you will be invoiced for the balance due on your student account, in accordance with hours scheduled and the published refund policy.
- The student can receive up to three awards (maximum $6,000 per lifetime) for different certifications or workforce credentials, but they must successfully complete one certificate before receiving another award for a new certificate.
- The student must stay continuously enrolled in the approved program for funding to be applied.
- The awarding of this grant is conditional upon continuance of state funding. Awards will continue until funds are exhausted.
- Male students age 18 or older must be able to provide proof of registration with Selective Service (https://www.sss.gov/verify/)
- This grant can be awarded in conjunction with federal need-based financial aid, such as Pell grant. Therefore, submission of a current FAFSA is recommended but may be required.
- Only programs that are 600 hours or longer are eligible to receive federal student aid through FAFSA.
