Practical Nursing

Applications for the 2025-2026 year will open January 1st 2025. The deadline to apply is May 1st 2025.

Students will learn to:

  • Focus on healthcare procedures, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, infection control, and intravenous therapy
  • Provide quality patient care in a variety of healthcare facilities
  • Contribute to the healthcare team by performing various procedures while effectively communicating with patients

Upon successful completion of the Practical Nursing program, students are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses         (NCLEX-PN).

Practical Nursing (Hybrid) - Course Information Sheet

Monday – Friday  8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

This program is a combination of classroom, lab, clinical, and online/distance learning.

Total Charges:  $17,109*
Included are tuition, books, laptop, fees, clinical uniforms, and supplies.

Students must pay a $25 non-refundable seat fee upon acceptance into the program.  This is NOT included in tuition charges.

Pre-Admission Requirements

  1. Complete Practical Nursing Adult Education application online. You will then gain access to your online account portal.
  2. Submit a copy of your high school/equivalency transcript (not the Diploma) via the online account portal.
    • Contact your high school for your transcript even if you completed a Mid-East CTC high school program.
    • Go to: https://diplomasender.com/#/ to obtain a copy of your equivalency transcript
  3. Schedule and take your ATI TEAS entrance assessment. Refer to your registration email for information. The deadline to test is May 18th 2025.
  4. Submit a copy of your STNA card (current or expired) or certificate of completion for a State Tested Nurse Aide Training course of at least 75 hours or more. If no proof of this training then STNA training must be completed prior to the start of class. STNA training is available for those who are accepted into the Adult Practical Nursing program. This is an additional cost to you, not included in your PN tuition. You can register here STNA
  5. Submit a copy of your current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR/BLS provider certification only, via the online account portal. If you have not held this certification previously, or your certification has expired, we will be offering AHA CPR/BLS trainings during the summer prior to the start of class. Additional information will be forthcoming. This is an additional cost to you, not included in the Practical Nursing tuition.
  6. Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the following link https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.                               
    • Use school code: 012967 for Mid-East CTC Adult Education.

Upon acceptance:

  1. The first week of class students will complete a BCI/FBI background check through the Adult Education office. The background check must be free of any offenses disqualifying you from the program. From the Ohio Administrative Code Rule 3701-13-05, depending on the severity and the length of time since the offense, may not be able to complete the program due to the nature of our clinical locations.
  2. Submit a copy of the physician-signed Physical/Immunization form via the online account portal Physical & Immunization Form. This must be valid for the time period of the entire program.
