Phlebotomy

Phlebotomists draw blood from patients for testing purposes.  Classroom and lab work includes terminology, A & P, blood collection procedures, hands-on practice, puncture methods, and clinical blood draws.

Students must be 18 years of age to complete this class. Students must also submit their official high school transcript with school official signature, or high school equivalent/GED transcript, for verification of high school completion.

If there are no dates listed, we do not have any classes scheduled. You may indicate interest and you will receive an email notification of available classes.

120 hours  Approximately 6 weeks

Monday - Thursday (calendar dates vary, student receives full schedule on first day)
8 am - 2 pm

Class size is limited on a first-come basis with paid tuition. See tuition details below. 

Total Program Cost:  $1750* 

Breakdown of cost:

  • Tuition & Fees: $1217
  • Books & Certification Exam: $340

This is a part-time class and can not be paid for by Financial Aid. It is self-pay or agency funded. Total amount due at time of registration unless being funded by an agency.

Funding Determination Form
The Funding Determination form must be completed and submitted at least one week prior to the class start date. This document is required for all students, even if you are self-pay. If you are being funded by an agency, employer, or other entity, the middle section must be completed by the payor.

Prepare to earn certification in:

  • MedCA

  • Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)

Students:

 A 2-Step TB skin test must be completed and results given to the instructor (You can do this through a physician. If you are in Muskingum County, Rambo Health (740-452-5401) can do this for you as well.


Due to clinical locations, an annual flu vaccination during the flu season is required or a medical
or religious exemption.

Once class begins, the student will be sent for a BCI/FBI background check which must come back clear.
