Paramedic

Applications for the 2025-2026 open January 1. The deadline to apply is March 31st 2025.

Students will learn to:

  • Save lives by providing critical care in real-world emergency and trauma situations
  • Interact with patients, hospital staff, firefighters, and law enforcement while gaining experience in advance medical procedures
  • Use advanced diagnostic equipment to preform detailed medical and trauma-patient assessments

Upon successful completion of the Paramedic program, students are eligible to take the National Registry Exam.

Clinical Make-Up Time $25/hour

Pre-Admission Requirements

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2.  Complete Paramedic Adult Education application online. You will then gain access to your online account portal. 
  3. Submit a copy of your high school or equivalency transcript through your online account portal
  4. Take the entrance assessment (WorkKeys) with a passing score of 4 on Workplace Documents, Applied Math, and Graphic Literacy. You may also submit test scores taken within one year. Test score submissions or testing deadline is May 1, 2025
  5. Submit EMT certification through your online account portal. Serving 1 year of experience preferred
  6. Submit a copy of your driver's license through your online account portal
  7. Submit a copy of your NIMS 100 and NIMS 700 certificates through your online account portal
  8. Submit a copy of your immunization record and current flu shot through your online account portal 
  9. Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using the following link https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.                               
    • Use school code: 012967 for Mid-East CTC Adult Education.
  10. Interview with the program coordinator. Additional information will be sent via email to schedule your interview in the Spring.

Upon acceptance:

  • Before the program begins student will complete a BCI/FBI background check through the Adult Education office. The background check must be free of any offenses disqualifying you from the program.

*Students must pass the Paramedic National Registry Exam and gain state certification card to obtain employment as a Paramedic.
