The goal of this program is to prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.

The Mid-East Career and Technology Center's Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Education Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (www.coaemsp.org/)

Pre-Admission Requirements

  1. Must be at least 18 years of age
  2. Adult Education Application - will be submitted once you've filled out your online registration. You will also gain access to your online account portal. 
  3. Submit a copy of your high school or equivalency transcript through your online account portal
  4. Take a pre-entrance assessment with passing WorkKeys scores. You may also submit test scores taken within one year. Test score submissions or testing deadline is May 1, 2024.
  5. Submit EMT certification through your online account portal
  6. Submit a copy of your driver's license through your online account portal
  7. Submit a copy of your NIMS 100 and NIMS 700 certificates through your online account portal
  8. Submit a copy of your immunization record and current flu shot through your online account portal 
  9. Fill out your FAFSA for Federal Student Aid using the following link https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa (School code: 012967)

After acceptance but before first clinical experience:

  • After the program begins we will complete a BCI/FBI background check. The background check must be free of any current charges, incarceration, and/or parole or probation for a felony offense.

After class completion:

  • Are eligible to take the National Registry Exam after successfully completing this program.
