Campus Safety and Security

Choosing a postsecondary institution is a major decision for students and their families. Along with academic, financial, and geographic considerations, the issue of campus safety is a vital concern. Mid-East CTC - Adult Education strives to ensure the safety and security of all students, staff, and guests to the facility while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. To do this, multiple safety measures have been initiated and are implemented on a continuous basis. Mid-East CTC - Adult Education is required to disclose statistics that are reported to the institution as well as to local and state law enforcement agencies. 

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, commonly known as the “The Clery Act,” is legislation that requires schools to give timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the safety of students or employees, and to make campus security policies public. To remain in compliance, all postsecondary institutions participating Title IV student financial assistance programs are required to disclose campus crime statistics and security information. This information must be distributed by October 1st of each year to current students and employees and made available to any applicant for enrollment or employment upon request. The full report is provided and updated annually as directed by the U.S. Department of Education and provides statistical information of crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within and immediately adjacent to school-owned buildings and property.
